Welcome to the future of World Handball.

It's thanks to all the preceding World Championship host countries and hard-working committees that Portland has such a high standard to meet in 2009. We are ready for the challenge! And with three years to plan, and dynamic new technology like webcasting moving handball forward, the 2009 event will be the very best World Championships ever.

In the coming months, handball players and administrators in Portland, Oregon will gather supporters and fans from the Pacific Northwest and across the United States, working toward the moment when World Handball returns to the U.S.A.

The Multnomah Athletic Club is one of the nation's premiere sports and social clubs. You won't believe your visit to "the MAC!" There's every kind of amenity and sport-specific equipment there, plus a stadium right outside the windows! For the Worlds, we'll have 10 beautiful handball courts, including a left-sidewall-glass showcourt.

There'll be three indoor 1-Wall courts, too. And when action spills over, the nearby Sunset Athletic Club will keep matches going on eight more excellent courts.
